Rotel Unveils the Compact and Powerful DX-5 Integrated Amplifier

Following the recent launch of the DX-3 headphone amplifier and DAC, Rotel has introduced the new DX-5 integrated amplifier — a compact, desktop-friendly solution that packs serious sonic performance in a sleek enclosure.

Described as a “sleek powerhouse,” the Rotel DX-5 delivers 33 Watts per channel into 4 ohms (or 25 Watts per channel into 8 ohms) of Class AB amplification. This level of output, driven by a high-performance toroidal transformer built in-house and robust high-current output transistors, ensures a dynamic and immersive soundstage with crisp highs, detailed mids, and tight bass response.

At its heart is a premium ESS ES9039Q2M Sabre DAC, capable of decoding up to 768kHz PCM and DSD 4x. With a signal-to-noise ratio of 100 dB and a frequency response of 10 Hz to 100 kHz (±0.19 dB), the DX-5 promises a clean, distortion-free listening experience with exceptional clarity and spatial detail.

Despite its compact footprint — just 215 x 76 x 251 mm (8 1/2 in x 3 in x 9 3/4 in) and 4.1 kg — the DX-5 is packed with connectivity options for maximum versatility. Key features include:

The device ships with a refined aluminium remote and is available in both black and silver finishes.

The Rotel DX-5 integrated amplifier will first roll out across North America, Europe, and the UK, with additional worldwide availability to follow. Pricing is set at $1,499 (USD), €1,499 (EUR), and £1,399 (GBP).
