JAVA Hi-Fi Expands Amplifier Lineup with Six New Models, Premium DAC, and CARBON Editions
New Zealand’s high-end audio specialist JAVA Hi-Fi is making waves once again with a major expansion of its amplifier range. The company has unveiled six new amplifier models, a cutting-edge R2R ladder DAC, and high-performance CARBON editions of its preamplifiers and power amplifiers.
This product expansion comes on the heels of overwhelming international acclaim for JAVA’s CARBON integrated amplifiers, which debuted in January 2024 and have quickly become the brand’s top-sellers.
According to Martin Bell, Founder and CEO of JAVA Hi-Fi, strong customer demand was the driving force behind the development of dedicated CARBON versions of their separates.
Each unit in the CARBON separates line features exclusive high-end upgrades, including 9mm-thick carbon fibre outer casework that offers superior vibration damping and resistance to RF interference. Internally, the preamplifiers boast revised LDR circuitry, while the power amplifiers are outfitted with Kryo binding posts, silver RCA connectors, and IsoAcoustics Gaia IV isolation feet—all designed to enhance sonic performance and audio purity.
JAVA is also introducing two new integrated amplifier models:
- Single Shot 400: An upgraded version of the original Single Shot, delivering 400W into 8 ohms.
- Double Shot 200: A more accessible entry at 200W output, offering a high-end experience at a relatively lower price point.
On the digital front, JAVA Hi-Fi is debuting a new in-house-designed USB DAC module that replaces the previous Burr-Brown chip. Launching in May, this high-performance DAC is based on dual Analogue Devices AD1865 18-bit chips in a non-oversampling (NOS) architecture. It supports up to 768kHz audio files and features a linear regulator for ultra-low noise performance.
This new DAC includes native MSB (Most Significant Bit) adjustment for greater linearity and reduced harmonic distortion. Furthermore, in the Double Shot integrated amplifiers, each channel receives its own dedicated DAC board, enabling a true dual mono, fully balanced configuration—ideal for the most discerning audiophiles.
The enhanced CARBON preamplifiers and power amplifiers are scheduled to begin shipping in May 2025. Here’s a breakdown of the pricing:
- CARBON Single Shot 200: US$12,995
- CARBON Double Shot 200: US$13,995
- CARBON Single Shot 400: US$15,995
- CARBON Double Shot 400: US$16,995
International pricing is yet to be confirmed, but one thing is clear—JAVA Hi-Fi is positioning itself at the forefront of premium audiophile innovation, blending luxurious design with uncompromising sound performance.
