Cyrus 80 Series Evolution marks a bold new chapter for the legendary British audio brand as it expands upon the success of its acclaimed 40 Series. While the 40 AMP set a strong precedent, the new 80 Series pushes further with a full-width design that allows for deeper engineering innovation and system integration. According to Cyrus, this fresh line-up doesn’t signify a change in direction but rather a natural progression—offering a significantly larger “playground” for its expert team to exhibit high-end audio design excellence. This move aims to position the iconic Cambridgeshire brand alongside industry heavyweights such as Naim and Linn.
The new Cyrus 80 Series Evolution lineup features three meticulously engineered products. Leading the charge is the 80 AMP, a robust streaming amplifier that delivers 150W per channel via Class A/B amplification and spans premium streaming platforms like TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify, and Roon. Its sleek design integrates a large touchscreen, illuminated dials, and a contemporary aesthetic. For those who prefer separates, the 80 PRE preamplifier pairs seamlessly with the 80 PWR power amplifier. Supporting the same BluOS streaming functionality, the 80 PWR outputs 200W per channel and offers a mono mode delivering 300W of bridged power, perfect for high-demand systems.
Set to launch in November, the Cyrus 80 Series aims directly at audiophiles seeking luxurious performance in the £5,000–£6,000 range. The new full-width casework also ensures seamless integration with both the 40 and 80 Series components, along with compatibility with the 40 PSU for enhanced power and sonic refinement. As Cyrus Managing Director Nick Clarke hints, there’s more innovation on the horizon.
